Garlic Knot Wreath

Ingredients

Serves 4-6

  • 1 lb pizza dough (16 oz.)
  • 3 Tb salted butter
  • 1 Tb minced garlic
  • 1 Tb fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1/4 cup low moisture shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
On a rimmed cookie or baking sheet, lay out a piece of parchment paper. Place a ramekin in the middle of the sheet.
  2. Take your pizza dough and form 1 inch balls placing them around the ramekin clockwise. Repeat this until you have formed a circular “wreath” around the ramekin with your pizza dough balls.

  3. Next, melt 3 Tb of butter in a small sauce pan over medium low heat. Add minced garlic and stir for 2 minutes. Remove form heat. With a cooking brush, lightly brush the garlic knots with the garlic butter coating generously until it’s fully covered (use everything in your saucepan until it’s gone!).

  4. Add the mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the dough balls. Next, place the pepperoni around the “wreath”. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese evenly and do the same with the chopped fresh parsley.

  5. Place in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Turn up heat to 475 degrees and continue to bake for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Remove from oven and add marinara sauce to the ramekin in the middle without touching the ramekin (be careful as it will be hot - it will heat the sauce, stir if needed).
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes and serve! Feel free to add more grated parmesan, red pepper flakes to garnish!

Enjoy!!!! Oh….. and….LET’s GO!
